Tibet re-open for touris / Visitors.

Tibet was closed for tourist from March 14th, finally has opened for visitor/ tourist again.
Now travel agents and tour operators can process visa and Tibet permits for Tibet , informed by TTB (Tibet Tourism Bureau) in Lhasa by today.
Earlier, time to time China/Tibet authorizes said the region would reopen to foreigners and domestic tourists on May 1, a national holiday, but didn't open at that time.
This is news updated here as just arrived from Lhasa , however China Embassy in Kathmandu has not confirmed yet. Since today, China Embassy is closed for holiday; we will have more news by tomorrow only.
Tibet Visa and TTB permits:  Now onward local travel agencies in Kathmandu and Tibet can issue Tibet travel permits for overseas travelers to Tibet as like before. So, they are quite happy about this news and may get booking for coming season here onwards.
All rules and regulations remind same at the moment until further notice comes, however there is possible that only packages tour to Tibet , with confirm return air tickets or return transportation my required to book in advance. And also tourists are only allowed to travel through authorized travel agents with fixed tour plan. FITs may not allow traveling Tibet without organized tours; however after the China Olympic, policy may change.
Tourist who are entering Tibet from main-land China, need to provide following documents in order to prepare the Tibet permits.
- A passport copy
- Passport details (Full name in the passport, Passport no, Date of birth, Gender, Occupation and Nationality )
- Chinese visa copy
- And of course the confirmmed touring program details
